Alright, well I just got my 04 GT for the fiance. We traded her 97 Sunfire in for it. Well, me being a motor head, I have to make it faster. I hate that my modded GTP can out run the Mustang. I am looking to put an X-pipe on it first. I was curious on what should be my first steps to modding a mustang. I am guessing that it isnt much different than my GTP. Exhaust and intake first, and then go from there. I was hoping you guys might be able to give me some ideas of where to start at. Thanks in advance!

3.73 or 4.10 Gears would help it, X pipe and flow thru mufflers, CAI, SCT chip and Nitrous shot. Quick and easy and say goodby to the GTP

Now if I put different gears in it will throw the speedo or anything off? I dont know if it matters at all, but its an automatic. I know, not my choice though!!

It will throw the speedo off.
If you get a chip it will correct the speedo and it will remove your speed limiter which will be lowered by the new gears.

Yes it will you can get a SCT chip to correct it and at the same time get the Rev limiter raised and the speed limiter removed and it will get you extra HP and Torque

Hopefully here soon Hoov!!!
I was told last night by some local guys that for my automatic that 3.73 gears would be better to go with than the 4.10s, is there any truth to this? What are your opinions?

get 4.10s if you plan to stay N/A, If you plan on blowing it, get 3.73s
Also, get some nice sticky drag radials for the back tires. Nitto 555Rs will do the trick. I would do exhaust work after that.

For an auto, i would go 4.10's, I have 3.73's in my 98 gt, I also have Nitto 555r drag radials that whipster was talking about.. A little hard to get traction in 1st, but my tires are worn a little... not to mention my car is not stock...
