2011 Mustangs At The Queen Mary In Long Beach California

Sunday September 18th, 2011, was the awesome Mustang show at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. To start with, the location is beautiful, the weather was perfect and the Mustang enthusiasts who turned out for the show were a great group of people.

Justin Pawlak and Vaughn Gittin Jr. were there representing Ford Racing’s Drifting Team with Vaughn’s drift Mustang as well as his 1969 RTR-X Mustang. The crowd was light and the atmosphere was very relaxed, so I took the oportunity to get a picture with Vaughn. He was the nicest guy. You can tell he really loves being a part of the Mustang community.

***Also on hand for the day (in 2008) were some Legends; Dan Gurney and Parnelli Jones, as well as son-of-Legend Chad McQueen. TV host of Overhaulin and Power Block TV, Courtney Hansen was there as well (in 2008).***

Mustangs from most eras were present. Including Bullitts, old and new, lots of classic Mustangs, Roush was well represented as was Shelby Mustangs. Unfortunately, Steve Saleen was holding an event at his headquarters in Corona, California, so the Saleen faithful had their attention divided. But that didn’t stop at least a dozen hotted up Saleen Mustangs from showing up.

The vender booths were on hand to answer questions, sell products and represent the Mustang aftermarket. Of note were the Whiteline guys with suspension systems for the 2011 Mustangs, Trufiber with their corral of carbon fiber-ized ponies, Agent 47 with their Harbinger rolling chassis, Superformance – Hillbank with thier awesome GT40 as well as aftermarket mustang parts, Eibach, Magnaflow, and the list goes on.

Look for features on the Agent 47 Harbinger rolling chassis as well as Cars by Chris in the next few days. If you are interested in a custom hand drawn portrait of your Mustang project car, or any car for that matter, Chris is your guy.
