2011 Ford Mustang Boss 302 5

Just like the 1-of-1 Grabber Blue Mustang Boss 302 LS that was auctioned last year at Barrett-Jackson, we have another 1-of-1 Mustang Boss 302 LS up for bid, this time repainted in School Bus Yellow.

If the rumors about the 2013 Boss Mustangs are to be believed, School Bus Yellow is going to be a new color next year on the regular Boss 302s. So this has the potential to be the only LS in this hue, complete with the rear seat delete, hockey stick stripes, pedestal spoiler and signed by Parnelli Jones. The unique Mustang is going to be live auctioned off by Henry Ford Health Systems on October 15th, 2011 in Dearborn, Michigan. Phone bidders are welcome, but make sure to check out the fine print.

Here is what the official site has to say regarding the auction:

A live auction of this unique, extremely collectible vehicle will take place at the Winner’s Circle Afterglow event at 8 p.m. (EDT), October. 15, 2011 at the Ford Motor Company Conference and Event Center in Dearborn, Michigan. Auction participants do not need to be present to bid but must register in advance to participate by phone. The registration fee for phone participants is $500. Please note, the registration fee is waived for Shelby Track Event or Winner’s Circle Afterglow ticket purchasers.

The Grabber Blue LS was auctioned at a major event by a big-time promoter for a huge charity (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and the winning bidder paid $450,000. However, with the hype of the Boss dying down and the color not being Grabber Blue, we should expect a lower price once the gavel falls. Head on over to the Henry Ford site for all the details.

Looks like a 302S to me. Notice the lack of a passenger seat, the roll cage, the netting, the retrieval hook, etc. That’s not a Laguna Seca, that’s the full-on race car.

The pictured car is not the one up for auction. It was the best photo I could find to use though. Close to that color at least.
