3rd Annual Carroll Shelby Tribute And Car Show
On Saturday, May 16th, 2015, the 3rd Annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show was held at the Shelby Headquarters in Gardena, California, at Carroll’s old Goodyear Racing Tires Distributorship. Besides awesome cars and fellowship, there was a gathering of familiar faces who helped build the cars, the racing team and the legacy.
For Mustang people, like us, there are many legends associated with the Iconic Mustang. We have racing heritage from Ford Racing itself, legendary racers who have been with Ford and Mustang for many years, such as Carroll Shelby, John Force and Jack Roush.
But for many Mustang fans, none stands as tall and proud as Carroll Shelby. Nobody can deny or argue the role Shelby has played in improving the Mustang in every way. So it is very fitting to see dozens of Mustangs of every color and year at this years Memorial Tribute to the Man, the Legend, Carroll Shelby. It has been 3 years since the racing legend passed away, but the legacy he left will endure for many decades to come.
ShelbyGuy John Saia, was there to capture the magic of the event. According to John;
Turnout for the event was spectacular, and the entire property was packed with all sorts of Shelby automobiles from old and historic to new Shelbys, including the all-new Ford G.T. 350. So get ready, grab a cup of coffee and a napkin because there’s lots of photos to see (and perhaps drool over).
The featured cars for the event were G.T. 350s, celebrating 50 years of disturbing the peace! All early Cobras and Shelbys were treated to an indoor setting. There were twenty early Shelbys: five ’65s and 15 ’66s.
