No, Ford Is Not Making A Four-Door Mustang
It is one of those pesky rumors that keeps surfacing. Ford said no four-door Mustang back in 2006 but alas, 2011 is here and it brings a fresh rumor via StangTV that the four-door Mustang might be coming back and that they actually think it would be a good idea.
The Ford Mustang has survived 48 years with two-doors and that is not going to change anytime soon. The impact of making a 4-door Ford Mustang would single handedly kill the product negating any issues that Ford could possibly have with the current two-door setup as they would only be compounded by the lack of sales and backlash of adding an extra set of doors to any future Mustang.
If Ford wants to make a four-door sports car then they can bring the Australian Ford Falcon to America. If Chrysler/Dodge can have a four-door Charger and a two-door Challenger even after bankruptcy, Ford can have a four-door Falcon and a two-door Mustang.
So don’t fret, Mustang lovers. The Mustang might be looking at some changes coming up in 2014 but adding extra doors to it won’t be one of them.
