  I call it “Thinning the herd.”  Although I am impressed that a “V6″ Mustang can go 135 mph. We’ve come a long way Ford lovers.

  I’ve always wondered why they bother putting a weaker driveshaft on the V6 Mustangs.  I know they can always claim that the speed limiter was removed, but why create this safety issue in the first place?  A 305HP car is certainly capable of those kinds of speeds!

  I certainly agree. Ford missed the idea that cheap Chinese parts are not a good idea. You wouldn’t see a Porsche, or a BMW having this issue.  They need to change the top number.  Kinda sad in a way

  Ford oughta rethink that speedometer top speed number. That sucks and is embarrassing.

  So the steps should be  1) upgrade driveshaft  2) remove speed limiter ,then drive like a dumbass,got it !

  Wow!  Not sure what to say.  I havent paid  much attention to fast cars since I built High Performance Camaros in the 70′s.  Switched to Harleys after that and perhaps have slowed down a bit in general.  But the idea of building a car with a weak link like that is absurd!  Speed limiter?  WTF…  112mph is almost double the speed limit, so that cant be the issue.  I once blew a drive shaft..or more accurately, the universal joints after pulling a wholeshot, with desert gears and 4 passengers (talk about a dumb-ass.).  But for merely high rpm’s to make  it let go… on a NEW so called muscle car…..Wholy Crap Ford!!!! (Kinda like the stupidity of weight lifting MACHINES…If you cant pick the weight up off the floor…you shouldn’t be lifting it over your head!)  Freakin scarry…. I dont know how dumb that kid was…If the car is capable of going fast, you would expect all the components to be able to keep up.  A car should be built to keep up with the major components of the drive train.  How much money could they have saved…and where else have they scimped?  yikes….  Speed Limiter….Wholy S^#7!!!

  Doesn’t this page have some type of an editor? What caliber of copy writer who is employed by Mustang Evolution uses words like Idiot and dumb ass in their headlines and articles? It’s one thing to see that type of language in comments, but not in a sanctioned article. 

  Sure, the car broke at a high rate of speed, but does that make the driver / owner a idiot and a dumb ass? Mr. Brent Wilson, have you never done anything stupid while behind the wheel of a car?
