Hi! I’m just searching for advice on a build I’m planning for a new edge Mustang GT.
i have much to research into what I need and also making a plan cost wise.
I looking into making at max 600-700whp
I do intend keeping the 4.6 V8 but definitely having it custom built. I’ve looked into getting either the PT6466 Gen 2 or the PT6766 but more research has to be done! I’m extremely open minded to any advice as I’m new to this and any help is welcome!
I have nothing against the 4.6 2V. It is capable of producing that power reliably, but not without some modifications, though.
Used Coyote engines are plentiful and have become relatively inexpensive. With boost, they will make that power reliably in almost stock form.
If you compare the cost of building a 4.6 to just swapping in a good used Coyote engine, along with the power-adder, I think it will be less expensive to swap in a Coyote.
If you want to build a 4.6 engine, Sean Hyland's book on building modular engines is a good resource.

I will say that at first I did consider doing either a LS Swap or a Coyote swap (maybe the new edge cobra engine?) but man do I love the sound, it what got me loving the 4.6 V8. I will definitely buy the book on building the engine! Anything that can help I appreciate the advice!
