Upgrade vortech v3

I’m trying to see how I can up the boost on my vortech v3 sci. I want to make 10 to 12lbs of boost, I’m currently running 6lbs max at wot around 4500 to 6000rpm. I’ve heard of pulley changes but haven’t seen any videos about upgrading a v3 or what size for what amount of boost. The pulley I have on it now is 3.54” and my crank pulley is about 6 1/2”. I was also thinking of adding an intercooler to keep things cool when more boost is added like this one:

Has anyone been able to do this on their v3 units? I’m curious to know.

You MUST add an IC before raising boost pressure. 6 pounds is the streetable max without and IC. Anytime you compress anything, you heat it up and that's what the engine sees; killing power at least and destroying engines at worst. You'll make more power with less boost using a proper IC setup. I used to use nitrous oxide as a charge cooler on my old 88 back in the day, just a little 20 hp jet, dry, right at the airbox outlet and...that was at 6 pounds only.

Plenty of guys running 10-12 with no IC. Is it a good idea? No. Spot on tune and E85 will help a lot tho.

There should be pulley charts all over Google as well especially the Vortech website.

yeah, ill definitely get the intercooler first, would the bypass/bov have to be relocated once the ic is installed?

Honestly with an intercooler kit you should go blow thru slot style MAF. MAF should be in the straight shot of pipe that comes before the TB. BOV/Bypass should be before the intercooler so the intercooler can isolate the MAF from the BOV. Another good trick is to overspin the headunit to the max recommended speed and then install a wastegate set to the boost level you want. This will allow the HU to hit 8-12 psi super fast and the gate will stop it from overboosting the engine.
