Are Cheese Grater Tailights a factory option on 87-93?

I'm not a Fox owner, which is why I'm asking. Having a debate at work as to whether or not this type of tailight is a factory option. I've seen them around for many years and just figured they were.

Appreciate any advice on these..

Yes all GTs had them. The non grater lights are LX lights. Whoever is debating you needs a corner cut off their Mustang card because that is COMMON knowledge lol.

To truly settle the debate the answer to your question is "No". They were not a factory "Option". They were standard on all GTs from 87-93. You couldn't get them on anything other than a GT and every GT had them... except the 93 Cobra.....

IMHO - in the looks dept from the worst looking to the best, this is my order.

83-86 GT/LX
84-86 SVO
93 Cobra
87-93 GT
87-93 LX

The 83-86 gt/lx/svo & the 93 cobra looked almost identical except for the center color and stripes or no stripes running parallel with the center strip.
83-84 gt/lx=black center - no stripes
85-86 gt/lx=charcoal center - no stripes
84 svo=black center - stripes
85-86 svo=charcoal center - stripes
93 cobra=charcoal center - stripes

Replacing the GT taillights with LX taillights changes/improves the whole
rear appearance of the GT models.LX taillights & a set of Weld Draglites were the very first things I done to all 3 GT's I owned in the past. However,Im very aware that these are solely my opinions and others will have varying ideas of what looks good to them.
