Convertible top doesn't go down easy

Good Evening,

So I have an 02 convertible and just replaced the motor, lines, and shocks for the convertible top since the old ones were leaking. Now the top goes up fine, however when the top is up and I try to put it down it requires a little help getting off where it clamps down on the windshield. I am having to essentially push the top up and then it goes down fine. I will say I do see a tiny bit of air in the line an inch or so, but I don't think that's the issue since the top goes up just fine. Any thoughts/other parts that could be bad causing it to do this?

Thank you.

You need to bleed the system thoroughly.

Copy that guys.
I did it like 10 times putting the top up and down. I just can’t seem to get this 1-3 inch gap of air out. Any advice? Also do you keep the little plug from the pump out during this time or no?
