Exhaust nightmares

Got myself a cheap set of MBRP Axle backs , open box $140 , thought I scored a great deal , since I still have the stock exhaust on my GT , thought I'd give it a little rumble , nothing to loud
anyway install time , should be quick , right/ WRONG , the mufflers are seized onto the stock pipes , with some heating and beating , I finally got the driver side off ,and installed , passenger side no such luck , it seems to be fused to the over the axle pipe ,WTH ?
Looks like I'll be purchasing over the axle pipes now, witch I don't want to do, so much for saving $$$

Lol
I'm usually a Sawzall kind of guy, but yanking out the torch, and going to town is definitely more dramatic.

make sure to apply some anti seize on the flanges so it doesn't happen again in the future

I recently bought those same axle backs for my 14 v6 and they are cheap because they will rust. I bought a quality can of ceramic coating and sprayed them good and baked them in my oven before installing them. I used to have magnaflows and I honestly believe these sound a lot better for a fraction of the price.

Let us know what you think!

I got mine off amazon. As with anything like this prep is key. Clean the hell out of them, spray them as directed, then bake them in the oven at 500 degrees for an hour. Open all windows and get fans going before hand cuz it makes a mean stink!

I appreciate the info in this thread, I'm doing some exhaust work on my 2011 and I'm terrified that it's going to be miserable getting everything apart
