2015 Mustang Rumors: The Average Dude Will Know It’s A Mustang

Posted by on November 21, 2011 - more

I’m glad we got that 2013 Mustang refresh out of the way. Now we can move on to more important stuff, like what the hell Ford is going to do with the 2015 Mustang. The one that will be a global design in order to reach the deep pockets of the Europeans (sorry Greece and Italy). Well it hasn’t even been a month since the 2013 was revealed and we have our first set of rumors from our 2015 Mustang forum. This guy sounds legit and it’s not just because I found it on the internet either. Check it out:

Guys, I can’t get into specifics but I know that everyone will be pleasantly surprised by the looks of the next Mustang. How do I know? I’m a component supplier on the current and 2015 model and let me tell you the car will definitely have a contemporary, modern look to it-much more than the 2005-2013 models have now. There will be (limited) retro cues–nothing too tacky, just enough to tell the average dude that it is indeed a Mustang. The car is going slightly upmarket in style and quality to compete with BMW/Audi/Nissan. Don’t worry though, the boys in Dearborn have not taken their eye off the ball (read Camaro & Challenger). Look out Chevy and Dodge, come 2015, the King will return….

He goes on to make this reply to another member in the forum:

What I can tell you is the MY2015 model will have both an edgy and curvy look to it–think a modern day 99-04 with a little Aston Martin DBS and Nissan 370Z in the rear three quarter view. Both are muscular, curvy and edgy. Fit and finish will be close to or on par with the Audi S5. The roof line will be lower to accommodate a much sleeker rake to the windshield. The rear fenders are flared to give that wide stance and “don’t f$&k with me” look from the rear. The rear taillight treatment will look similar to the 99-04 in terms of edginess. The halo look may return but depends on customer feedback–they may go with LEDS instead. Don’t forget, Ford plans to export this model to both Europe and China–it will be a global vehicle. This means an independent rear suspension with world class handling and performance.

He seems to be pretty confident regarding the Independent Rear Suspension, which if true will make a lot of Mustang owners incredibly happy and end the endless jokes from import fan boys that have been jacking off.. I mean up their IRS setups for years now.

He points out that there will be references to the classic Mustang look which will lead the average person, or dude as he puts it, to easily recognize the car as a Ford Mustang.

So China, are you ready for the Mustang? Maybe if you have to drive it you’ll fix the transmissions you are making for them.

Don’t forget Ford, even though you plan to export this model to both Europe and China–it MUST BE an all American vehicle.   The average dude MUST know it was designed and built in America.

  2. Nick Garant says:

I’m sorry Ford, but the Mustang shouldn’t be a global vehicle. It’s an American pony car, made in America, for American tastes. I want my interior to be squeaky and unrefined. I want it to have oversized, over-pronounced styling. I want it to look like it’s going to tear every Euro-box car a new a***ole. I want it to have a truck axle, so when I throw cheater slicks on it, I don’t have to worry about the IRS blowing up. I WANT IT TO BE AMERICAN. RIP Mustang, you will be missed.

  3. @google-fcc1a679ddeb3f14e578fcd78bc423d2:disqus  Nick Garant,  I completly disagree,  First and foremost people must remember the original mustang was created during the age of the gas guzzling landyachts.  America really didnt have a small sleek affordable vehicle like the brits GTs until the mustang which was designed with tons of british styling.  Thats why it looked so different and sold so well.  The first question you gota ask is what exactly is american styling? So far, its been nothing more than doing everything possibly wrong in auto design. Boxy shapes, lines that dont flow or compliment one another, juxtaposed with parts from other models. Or like GM which thought adding a new plastic nose to the same car made it a different model. Theres only two cars from america that has lasted the test of time without discontinuation, and thats the mustang and the corvette. Only american cars of the 50’s had sleek lines complimenting shapes and curves. The current mustang needs to get REAL!  it now has a great engine. actual power and performance.  But its chassis is still wrong. Its the biggest stang of them all and yet its proportions are that of a compact. Its heavy and stubby, too small inside because of bulbuss interior panels. The result of ford trying to please too many demographics instead of making it what it should be.  A true GT sports car!.  not a beach comber.   The mustang should be on par with a porsche carrera without question.  It needs to look good, and shed the ghetto banger red neck beach comber traits.  In fact if you have the eye to see, it should really reflect something of an aston martin vantage.  It needs style and class.  Saleen certainly knew it.   The current car is too tall, its wheel base needs to be lengthened with a tad bit more width.   Give it some of that british look, lines that blend well shapes that compliment. The engine is now euro like and BETTER (higher reving)  no longer all low end grunt and noise only to die off as quick as 2rd gear.
The mustang is american,  but the best cars we made was always in conjuction with the brits.    Shelby cobra- AC ace  – GT40/ designed in UK  – Mustang/ british influenced.    Nothings wrong with that.  just make a great car.  And to be honest the mustang really deserves to be treated as a that Flagship marque for ford.  Guigaro could see it,  Saleen did and built it. why can the average joe see it.    The next mustang should be part Aston martin Part Elanor.   Mean sleak sexy.

Yeah because British cars are so well know around the world, lol.  I owned some MGs.  They were the most problem prone cars I have ever owned.  The triumphs were nice cars but the Mustang could blow them away.  We are talking different classes of cars.  I just sold my 2007 Mustang and I do agree wth you that it should have been 400-500 lbs lighter but I also liked the elbow room.  My biggest complaint was the weight but it looked great, handled great, and had major acceleration.  You cannot give the Brits the credit for american muscle cars.  Like I said early, what cars are the Brits known for today?  The Mini is German now and it was junk before BMW bought it.  American cars today have more style than the European models.  German cars are not stylish.  I guess style is a matter of opinion so it does not matter what we think.  I bought my nice leather, appearance packaged interior and exterior Mustang for $28.5.  What nice stylish European car can you get the performance and looks for $28.5?

  4. This is more in line with what I’ve theorized – the 2015 Mustang will be an update of Fox-Body design as opposed to 60-70’s design.

Wouldn’t be too much to ask for a return of the proper lift-back would it?

  36. People normally pay me for this and you are giving it away!

  37. I would rank Blyleven-Schilling-Mussina-Morris, but a strong case can be made for all those guys. Schilling is buoyed by his postseason record, but at his peak (when he was on the Roger Clemens “workout regimen”) he was the most dominant out of this group. He doesn’t have an overwhelming win total, but his ERA, strikeouts and WHIP are pretty strong. The main thing is Blyleven not being in. That’s just a crime.

  38. This article keeps it real, no doubt.

  39. Yo, good lookin out! Gonna make it work now.

The worst sort is that which believes it is ultimately noble, and willingly makes ethical compromises because of that delusion. We need objective leaders, willing to make mistakes while willing to admit them. Refusing to accept responsibility resonates throughout the land and makes of us a culture of weasels.
