Big things are still happening at the Shelby headquarters despite the passing of the man himself back in May. Production has started on a ’13 Candy Red Shelby GT00 Super Snake and here’s photo evidence from Carroll Shelby’s Facebook Page. Here’s your look into the birth of a snake. Although, no finished photos are available, we’ll be sure to bring them to you when they finally become available.

We knew the time was near when another Super Snake graced us with its presence according to John Luft, President of Shelby American, who mentioned such a thing at the New York Auto Show. Thanks to, Luft mentioned that the new Super Snake might not reach the gain of previous Super Snake models, but it will make up for that in handling, cooling, braking and styling. You can see the brand new Mustang being torn apart to add more goodies such as bigger brakes for much better stopping power to help halt that 5.8-L V8. Also, the bumper, the hood, the wheels and a few other parts have been removed for easy access to add more performance goodies.

We don’t know what kind of stuff is being added to help enhance performance in an already beastly GT500, but we’re not complaining one bit. Bring on the power! The last Shelby GT500 Super Snake saw gains of 250 horses, which won’t be the case with this one. However, don’t underestimate it. I’m sure the guys over at Shelby American have some tricks up their sleeves to turn this into a monster wanted and envied by many. Stay tuned!
