Yes because your cruising around in a lower gear!.. Personally I would leave it on unless your running it at the track!..Is that y the rpms go so high wen I press it?
it's basically your last gear. look at it this way, you want it on when your just cruising driving around town, but when you race turn it off up until you reach "Drive" then you turn it back on so you don't redlineWhat is the purpose of the O/D button on the automatic handle??
lol I picked up 2 tenths of a second on average on the 1/8th by turning my OD off...and it really does make passing easier :good: at least in the two auto's i've hadIt's an Auto!.. All you have to do is Stomp on it and it downshifts on its own!.. No need to turn to OD off!..
Once I had my tune turning the OD off actually hurt my times!.. Plus we are talking about simply passing someone on the highway!..lol I picked up 2 tenths of a second on average on the 1/8th by turning my OD off...and it really does make passing easier :good: at least in the two auto's i've had
Yes in a untuned car it does make a difference!.. But just for the sake of passing its not needed!.. And is not really the wisest thing to do unless your towing something!.. Check out the owners manual!..Well let's just say we are talking about an untuned auto then for OPs thread lol, but good to know. I'll be jmodding the car in the spring since i was gonna flush and fill it anyways. and yes even simply passing turning the OD off has always made a difference in my cars. What car is your auto in? is it a sixxer or GT just curious
to be honest i don't know on a GT...i had a 5 speed in mine. as for the owners manuals i don't read them lol.
