So I was watching this video on YouTube and this guy had a 2001 Mustang GT with two different mufflers. On the left side he had a 40 series and on the right he had a 10 series, and it surprisingly sounds really good. Now I want to upgrade from the stock exhaust on my 65' Mustang(has original 289 cui V-8). What the hell, I'm 16 and I want a loud exhaust system and I will change it later in life if I don't like it anymore, so I am gonna run long tube headers and 2.5" system but should I do one side 40 and the other 10 or just run 10's on each side?

The back pressure will be uneven with a setup like that. not a good idea.

For best results run headers with small tubes up front and same size mufflers with an equalizer tube before the mufflers.

P.S. this is what I did to my '63 Ranchero V8 (which, by the way, is exactly the same as a Mustang when you take away the body sheet metal) with VERY satisfying results.
