I have a Lincoln electric 3200HD weld pack using .035 flux core wire myself using just the 120vac plugs. I've welded a new roof, quarter panels, floor, trunk floors, subframes to new new floors, taillight panel and rear dash work with no issues. The 66 is a unibody and mostly sheet metal anyway so if you got a decent welder an know how to weld, it shouldn't be an issue. I have yet to weld in the TCI front suspension but knowing the welder as I do, I have no doubt it will go in smoothly.

Just do plenty of practice welding with the same thickness of metal before you touch the car. Know how it welds, know how the metal reacts to the welder, know when you get good penetration, know how it looks when you get done welding. Gas is good but not totally needed, just a lot more to clean up when you get done welding.

Also, body panels take forever if you want to get them on without warping the metal. Spot welds are very tedious but worth it in the end. Trust me.
