It's weird that it idles fine but yet almost stalls when slowing. Does the problem go away when your engine heats up? This problem could be due to many reasons;

-Incorrect idle speed
-Fuel filter clogged and/or water impurities in the fuel system
-Damaged or wet distributor cap and wires
-Emissions system components faulty
-Faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plugs/wires
-Vacuum leak at the intake or hoses
-Fuel injection or engine control systems malfunction

As for a price, it would depend on the problem. Best thing to do if you're worried about cost and aren't sure what the problem is, is to take your car into a shop and get an estimate of repair. They can diagnose the problem for you and depending on what the problem is you may be able to fix it yourself. Or, make friends with a mechanic ;)
