i have a 97 mustang v6 and i am swapping the engine out for a 99-04 mustang gt. when one comes in to my work. so money or parts are no worry since i will be taking everything from the gt that i get. what i need to know is the plug in is the same on the 97 as it is for the 99 and newer to the computer. does anybody know if it is the same or different. if different then i know i will need a aftermarket cluster so my gauges work. but if it is not then amazing i should have no problems swapping this engine. but please help i need to know if the plug is the same or no. thank you..

No offense, but if you think that success of this swap hangs on whether or not a single "plug" ( I assume you're referring to the ECU and/or wiring harness) is common between the cars, then you are in for an unpleasant surprise.

A 302 will swap into a V6 Mustang easier than the 4.6L will.
