Hi everyone. This is my first time posting and I was hoping someone could help me figure out what direction to take regarding my 2007 Mustang 4.0l automatic. I picked it up for cheap to use as a daily driver. It was cheap because the motor was seized (which I knew). I was able to pick up a 2006 4.0L with 80k on it for only $250 from a friend. The 2006 does not have a flexplate. After checking, I see the flexplates have different part # (2006=4R3Z6375AA; 2007=1L2Z6375CA), so it looks like I need to buy a 2006 flexplate, correct?
But I also see the torque converters are different too (2006=4R3Z7902AARM; 2007=7L2Z7902ARM). Do I also have to buy a 2006 torque converter and will the 2006 torque converter work with my 2007 transmission?

Where did you get the part numbers from?

Take it you called your local dealer? I would keep the torque convertor the same as the trans, fly wheels should, aka, should be the same.

I did a search on a Ford dealership website to get the part numbers. The 2005-2006 4.0 V6 torque converters and flex plates had different part numbers than the ones for 2007-2010 Mustangs 4.0 V6. I can't seem to find the reason for the changes between 2006 and 2007. There must be reason why different part numbers are listed. Is there a balancing/weight difference?? I don't want to put everything back together only to find a vibration or some other issues and then have to tear things apart again.

If you have all the parts for a 2007, put all the 2007 stuff on it.
