Have a 2011 GT convertible. When I get into my car, the sync automatically starts playing music from my iPhone using the car's Bluetooth. Then, when I actually connect the iPhone using the cord via the console USB, I have to go into sync and select USB source to get clearer playback. This is an annoying process I must do each time I climb in the mustang.

Can anyone provide some guidance? Did I set this up incorrectly? I would like the Bluetooth to automatically connect to the iPhone to answer calls, but not play music. Any thoughts?

Try resesting the audio and sync system.... Refer to your manual
It's working as intended. The system is designed to automatically connect to your phone when you turn on the car. The issue is that it connects for both handsfree and audio streaming/control. You also cannot pair a bluetooth device for handsfree without enabling bluetooth streaming, which is kinda dumb. I also only want to stream via the USB cable, but there is no way to disable bluetooth audio in the menus.
