Is there any way I can rebuild my 3.7 using 4.2 parts or I just gotta do 4.2 swap ?

You're going to spend twice as much on the 3.7 rebuild with 4.2 parts vs just doing the 4.2 swap and building off that. I have no experience in it, but I did research it a bit on google this morning (long boring conference call, needed something to pass the time)

I think you're getting your engines confused. The 4.2L V6 is a stroked version of the 3.8/3.9L V6 used in '94-'04 SN95 Mustangs so no, you can't rebuild your Cyclone 3.7 V6 with 4.2 parts.
Your best option is to find a decent used low mileage 3.7 V6 from another '11-'14 Mustang.

If you are looking for building a motor look up Super Six Motorsports, they have a 4.0 build on the 3.7 but the 4.2 is a different and less horse powered beast. You can also check out Auto Mafia Racing for performance parts.
