Was thinking of getting the new mustang v6 and I was wondering if its worth it?
Just got my 2012 v6 premium. Pony package is the way to go (better rims). I got racing red with the louvers and side scoops. LOVE IT! Also recommend getting the slip differential.

IMO, if you are going to get anything I'd say get the GT if possible. Believe me once you get the V6 you'll definitely want the extra power.

Got the V6 with PP. handles better than the base GT and gets 4-5 mpg better average. Yea GT is more power but if mpg is important to you than a V6 is the way to go. 305 hp isn't bad either, get a tune and a Cai and run premium you'll be about 330-340 with some good off the line torque. Plus it's about $5k less. Now if you're planning on getting a 3.7 and doing thousands in mods just go with the GT and get that plus a warranty.

The 2012s are the ones with 305 that's 5 more hp than my dads 08 GT so I wouldn't mind getting a 2012. They've got more hp than the previous sixxers

In my 12 v6 I raced a friend of mine. He has a supercharged cobalt with 17 pound of boost. We tied. Not bad for stock with a set of borlas vs supercharged, forged internals, magnaflow exhaust, and a lighter car. Plus he is physically 10 pounds lighter than I am.

For sure! I just traded my 08 v6 for my 12 v6 and you can really feel the 305hp and what I like more than the power is the handling! And I like the extra power a lot! The laterall movement is supreme compared to the 08 and I didn't even get the $2,000 performance package

I have an 2011 stang, the 305 is a small beast. I put the flowmaster exhaust system on it and just three weeks ago I got a sct bama tuner. Im using the 91 performance tune. Transforms the stock pony into a wild stallion. Pulls way harder and no delay when you juice it. Never skips over gears and you get the full power of the 3.7

Thanks 11 kona blue! You answered me to perfection! It skips when it shifts! I get it now! I gotta get that BAMA tuner!!! How much $ is it, and does it cancel the warranty?

I purchased the sct bama tuner from American Musscle online for $ 379.00 dollars free shipping. American Musscle gives you free tunes for life. To answer your second question about the warranty. Dealers can void your factory warranty if they can prove the defect is because of the tuner. That of course can be argued by the dealer and you. I called American Musscle. They stand by there product and they pledge that if a dealer will not fix a warranty issue and claim its because the direct result of the tune, then American Musscle says they will pay to fix the issue. No cost to us. I have researched American Musscle and have found nothing but awesome things about them.

My 2011 stang only has 7,200 miles and I have owned it since October 2010. I know there may be a warranty issue but I believe my three year warranty will be up long before I ever hit 36,000. I only have two years left to my warranty.

The tuner is great. Gets rid of the speed rev limit. Gets rid of delay when accelerating. Pulls harder. Increase hp and torque. Opens full throttle response. Never skips a gear. Huge difference. I was skeptical at first but glad I bought it.

Hey Kona, i think ive read this post a dozen times thinking of getting the CAI and tuner lol. Think you sold me on it if American Muscle will pay for any issue that the dealer wont im going for it. I know there is a bigger monster lurking under the hood, just need to uncage it lol.

Ya go for it man. You won't regret it. If you have the extra funds and want a almost double car payment get the 5.0. I have alot of friends with gt's and go to the track quiet often and I have never had a 2010 and older gt beat me. Even both of my friends with 5.0s barely pull on me. For the money its far better than any gt every produced (except the 5.0)!!!

Just weighing in on the GT verses the V6. Unless you're taking it to the track, not sure why you would want a GT. I recently sat in the 50k Cobra and was happy to say its almost identical to the 2012 V6 interior. The GT will cost much more in gas as well as insurance. And the 305 HP is smokin fast.

Yeah, Unless your going to track or road course the 305 hp is fast. It keeps with any 2010 or previous Gt. With the sixer ones insurance will be quite less than the V8. I know we like to get the big V8 so we can feel big and bad on the road but remember their is always something faster and more bad out there. You can have 600 hp and there will be someone who has 750hp. Chasing the tail end of Horsepower and performance rainbow, its one that will never be won. Someone out there has more.
