I just got my 2013 2 days ago and , i was actually impressed by the way it handles , true is that the car can use some lowering but i dont think that i want to mess around with the shocks , the oem are on my level of confort and the car doesnt jump at all , i have the brembo package which is suppoust to have a stiffer susp as well. So i was gong to get coilovers but now im thinking that coilovers might be overkill , since i cant really go much lower on my 19s as to enjoy a full drop with coilovers i might just take a good set of springs. Anyways i would like to hear your opinion and also i would appreciate pics thx

Coilover might be too much specially if you are not going to hit the track every weekend, springs by itself would give you the look and unless you lower more that 1.5 inches your brembo shock and struts will not to uncomfortable.
I am personally going with this set up:

Frpp k springs
Tokico d spec adjustable strut/ shocks
Gt500 mounts
Bmr adjustable ban bar
Bmr lower control arm

It is all just under $1000 and installation i will recommend doing it with a shop if it is your first time.

A lot have done springs only and are happy with the ride. I did the Eibach Pro Plus that includes the struts and shocks and I'm very happy with the ride... Stiffer but feels nice and controlled, I just wasn't able to change to change the strut mounts since the GT500s didn't fit and had to reuse the factory ones which I hear isn't recommended. Didn't have much of a choice as everything was already apart, as a result I'm getting squeaking noises in the front at times, mostly when I start driving and it goes away

You do realize it's the springs that primarily determine the suspension stiffness? Any lowering spring is going to be stiffer. Yes, coilovers tend to have higher spring rates than just lowering springs, but those are all stiffer than stock as well. The struts & shocks just keep the springs from bouncing forever. That's why they are properly called dampers. We've all seen the slammed ricers bouncing down the road, that's because they have too much spring rate for the dampers (and are probably riding on their bumpstops as well).

The suspension is a system & you're better off getting a set of struts/shocks to go with the springs. Just my $0.02.

Not trying to say anything demeaning just curiosity.

Why only lower the back? Was it just for looks then or were you expecting something else?

I haven't been able to look at your photo full screen on a comp yet but I would imagine the car looks off being lowered in the back but not the front? Or was that what you were aiming for?

Yea you're right. It was just for looks. If you measure your car you will see it is higher in the rear than the front. I also did not want to mess with the stock geometry of the front suspension. So i was able to get rid of the stink bug look by just lowering the rear by one inch which is the difference in height between front and rear.
Try this:
measure the rear and then add weight in the trunk or have two of your buddies jump in the back seat till the rear drops one inch. Step back and take a look. If you like the look order the springs and 45 minutes of your time. If not remove items from car and have a beer....beer does sound good right now.....I'm going to get a beer.

Haha fair enough thank you for the honest response! I haven't decided what I want to do yet and it is nice to have multiple ideas.

@venom yep i think im going to end up getting coilovers , the new car smell will wear out quick and im gonn go full performance , and if i get just springs im going to end up double spending
Yea trust me they are worth it! They are better than just springs and you can stiffen em or make em softer. Also you can lower or raise them

Yea coil overs are definitely worth it that my next mod after I get my exhaust , If your having problems hooking up I'd recommend lca's and uca's I think the adjustable ones are between $160 and $180 for lca's and bout the same for uca's
