I'm not sure that is going to work that way. It might, but...

The '13 decklid piece is completely different than the '10-'12s, in that the 'gas cap' emblem is directly attached to the black plastic filler panel that sits between the taillights. That plastic panel is then attached to the decklid with about 12 big rectangular fasteners.

I pulled the stock black panel off of my '13 V6 and replaced it with a plain matte ribbed CDC panel. Once the stock panel is off, the decklid has a dozen huge rectangular holes, plus the leftover 'hump' where the gas cap emblem used to mount on earlier models. But the new emblem is mounted directly to the plastic panel, not to the decklid.

You'd need to remove the '13 emblem from the panel and then determine if the older emblem would fit. I doubt it, but I guess it's possible.

Good Luck!

I agree totally different deck lids. According to my ford part store you can't just pop in your 12 faux gas cap - different size

Here's what I gathered.
image-2642311415.jpg This is the back side to my '11 GT faux gas cap. I removed it awhile back and it looks like you've got five plastic rivets that'll have to be drilled out. So you'll have to remove the cap from the trunk lid first. I have no idea how the '13 Faux gas cap is assembled.

Very carefully...

Lol, I used fishing line, a plastic scraper and there are two clips on the inside of the trunk lid that you've got to remove. I actually broke both of them trying to get it off.

Yeah, behind the interior panel of the trunk lid there are two C clips, their kinda like collars that have to be popped out. You should be able to see them when you remove the carpet panel.
