Well here are my mods so far with a bama tunes and custom AED tune.

Airaid intake
magnaflow off road x pipe
gt500 axle backs
93r tune from AED

My question is do i need a retune if im changing to long tube headers with off road x pipe. AED says its fine without it as long as no check engines appear. Bama sent me a new tune for them. So what do yall think about this.

retune needed or not and will it be safe without.

After installing the headers it smells alot richer at idle.

Yes, a Re-tune is neccesary after installing Long Tubes for a few different reasons. Your Changing exhaust flow before and after the O2 sensors, this could cause your car to lean out some, which is why we always send out tune revisions for Long Tubes! You also have a better flowing system so there will be some power left on the table if you don't re-tune.

I hope this helps. I see my Bama team has already sent you a revision, let me know if you have any questions or need some further assistance! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

No issues bama has got me a revisioned tune but my AED tune feels so much stronger for some reason. Now after driving the car with AED old tune it feels a little hesitant lets see if he will fix this issue if not im using the bama for now

Bama tunes are known to be a bit conservative. That's actually why I like them.
They give me a tune to run my mods safely without over clocking my motor.

Prime2tone is correct. With our first tune we will deliver as much power as we safely can! However, if you're looking to try and pull a little more out of your tune, we can definitely help with that. Just let me know and I'll have our head tuning specialist (Mike Wilson), Contact you directly! He can exchange some datalog's with you and really get your Bama dialed in to its full potential.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

Actually Shaun at AED is correct, no retune is needed for longtubes despite what many think. In the past a retune was necessary but on the 2011 up cars the widebands will compensate for changes in conjunction with longtubes. It may sound far fetched, but it's true.

Got proof of this?

Here is a good read by some very knowledgeable guys. See post #37. WBT has the fastest N/A stock shortblock street car out there. His tuner is his friend Kdanner.

When I did a longtube install for someone I asked for a revision from Lund and he said it wasn't needed. He was right. I data logged the car and nothing changed. The widebands compensated after a few miles. Maybe 5-10. I spoke with my tuner Justin Starkey at one time about this very subject and he also confirmed none was needed. And as you saw Shaun at AED also said the same thing.

This is exactly why I went with Bama. You cannot beat American Muscle. Even if it was acceptable to not tune because your car can adjust, why would u leave the extra horse just out on the table? Is that not half the point of long tubes?

You are not leaving anything on the table, trust me. If Bama things it's necessary for a retune I invite their head tuner Mike to come in here and give a good reason. Not a guy that answers phones and spams all the Mustang sites.

So obviously the guy gets free tunes from Bama, so the big deal or going ahead and using the time is?

I'm not understanding you but it would be nice if they gave an explanation of exactly what was changed. I'd bet everything I have there's no real changes being made. Just a great marketing gimmick. Just like the free tunes for life. Most if not all the reputable tuners out there will give out free revisions. They just don't go around advertising it on every forum out there.

I'm sayin, he ordered the parts from them, put the parts on, got the tune (whether it adds anything or not) he has it. It will not hurt anything to install it. Of you don't like American Muscle, that's your opinion and that is fine but I have been ordering from them for years and have had nothing but good experiences with them. If they wanna come in here and post, it doesn't bother be a bit. Besides, there are a whole lot of guys on here that order from them. If they were horrible and just "spammers" I don't think everybody on this forum would trust their opinion.

I also have bought parts from them and yes they have great customer. But fact. They have a number of guys that routinely spam the forums. Even he admits his AED tune felt better than his Bama tune. Food for thought.

I am pretty sure the AM guys said if you want a more aggressive tune from them they will do so by data logging with you.
