Which one is faster in a straight line ??

I know that the shelby got higher numbers than the ZR1 662HP and 638HP, and I saw a lot of videos in YouTube the shelby win some and the ZR1 win some.
The question is in real life which one is faster in a straight line regardless of numbers? I'm only talking about stock cars.

The ZR1 is a lot lighter, but i don't know what rear gears it has... My guess is it could be close.

The ZR1 would blow it away I assume. The weight difference is huge.

If my car had as much HP as my dads corvette, he'd still blow me away.

I'd put my money on the ZR1. Like Soccerluvr4 said, it's much lighter, and it's also lower and more aerodynamic. It should win, if both cars are stock.

ZR1 hands down, much lighter and much more aerodynamic. The GT500 might hang for a while but over 80 mph, and definitely over 100 it's like a brick in the wind compared to the ZR1

I don't think aerodynamic would mean anything in the 1/4 mile, if they went 200 through the traps, yes. I think they are even match, thats why you see some win and some lose, who ever get hook up at the line would win. It's hard to hook up big horsepower on street tires. On slicks I take the 500.

Over 60 aerodynamics play a big role, and both cars easily double that. Stock for stock the zr1 is high tens and the gt500 is mid to low 11's.

I just checked it out, you right on the times. 500 lbs less and tires twice the size on the rear is a big deal. The 500 won on gas mileage, and cost to hp fun.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I'd drive the Shelby. I ain't paying 110,000$ for a car that's mildly better.

I would stay away from some z06 as well, if it sounds cammed or Blown.

A modded zo6 can destroy a 2013 Shelby.


My ex brother in law had an 03 zo6 with tons of mods cams and all. That car could go 214 mph and was almost a 9 second 1/4 mile car. I think he was close to 650 HP. Probably more I'm not positive.

BUT the Shelby is way cooler. More useful. WAY more comfortable. Better gas mileage and cheaper all around.

And it's not really fair to talk modded cars ether I guess. You can mod ANYTHING with the right amount of money to be as fast as hell

There are modded new 5.0 in the 8 seconds, today anybody can beat anybody. Evolution just went 9.98 in a 13 GT500 with little mods. You need to compare apples to apples in the speed game. The gt500 is not out of reach to the average person, the ZR1 is, and very limited production.
The new viper I think runs the same time as the ZR1, now that a better comparison.

Than which car do I compare it with ???
Camaro ZL1 or Skyline GTR or Porsche or what ???
Again we are only talking stock here of course as you guys said we can modify any car to be faster.

I think you can compare it to the zl1 the zr1 and probably some Ferraris and Lamborghinis

You will probably beat a 911 (non turbo), z06 stock, f430 Ferrari, maybe an older base gallardo, m3, m5, zl1 and 2014 stingray vette. But GTR would compare more to a zr1 and viper level.
