Also different heads, two more camshafts, and different compression ratio. The 4v also has the ability to rev higher and has more top end where the 2v is more built for low end. IMO 4v are better.

And I'm guessing the 4v is better then the 2?
It flows better and produces more horses. Depends on how you look at it. Some ppl love their 2v and think its better. And same goes for 4v owners. But mod for mod you'll get more out of a 4v and a 4v produces more hp stock. 4v have 4 valves and dual overhead cams. Compared 2v with 2 valves and single overhead cam. But that doesn't mean you can get just as much power out of a 2v

Alright but to go from a 2v to a 4v how hard would it be? Like say you have a teksid block fully built bottom end with no timing cover heads cams any of that. What all do you need to make it a 4v?

Take it from someone who learned the hard way. If you have the chance to get a Cobra/Mach 1 do it. I had my GT and loved it but after 400-420hp its only a matter of time until you have to build the engine. It takes WAY WAY more cash to make power through a 2v like a 4v does. People will say Cams cost more on 4v because your paying for 4 of them instead of 2 but cams do not net you the power thats worth the cost unless your above 800hp and even then the stock cams hold up just fine. IMO sense I have done it, find a 4v car and save yourself the headache unless you really want to do a swap. If your gonna do a swap like that as well I suggest you find something worth swapping like a Termi engine or a 5.4L 4v that you can build. Hope it helps ~Haro

Find a set of 4v heads fully assembled... 03-04 cobra heads would be the best if your goin fi... They have awesome cams from the factory. Then order timing chains for a 4valve motor. Get a 4valve intake... And get a timing cover for a 98 to 01 cobra or 1 off a Mach 1...

96 to 98 cobra had the best cams. And the b heads love FI cause of the twin intake ports. Talk to 32vnomad. He has dealership and service manuals and can give you the specs on everything 4v!

C port are the best... If 96 to 98 was the best way to go then you would see more ppl doin a b port head swap.. And 96 to 98 might be for a n/a cam.... But 03/04 was made for fi, all they had in mind when ford had them made, well that and drive ability and longevity
