Hello everyone!
within the next month, I'm going to swap out my stock 2.73s with a different ratio.
I'm leaning towards the 3.55s.
Here are the limiting factors:
Eventually I'm going to turbo it.
I won't be getting new wheels/tires until these are out.

so, what do y'all think?

I think 3.55 is a better gear for the v6 because part of what make these cars amazing is the fact they can achieve over 30 mpg easy on the highway. And we have 6-speed trannys now so way more shifting with a higher gear ratio.

LEAVE THE 3.73 TO THE V8s, AND LET US ADOPT THE 3.55 GEAR!

Well average is always gonna be lower than highway especially if all you do is city driving. I average 20 mpg stock auto. But I got 30mpg on the 4hr trip back from atlanta.
^i know that :p

But as far as future mods, which would be better? 3.55s? It'll allow me to use boost in the lower gears and won't be in boost during highway driving. Right?

I'm right there with ya. In the next few months I'm getting rid of the stock 2:73 gas saving gears. I have been going back and forth on which gear ratio should I go with. Either 3:73 or 3:55 gears. I have stock tires and only have 20k miles on them and have no intention of getting new tires any time soon. I have no intention of super or turbo charging the vehicle although headers and off road x pipe will be done. I think the 3:55 is the gear where I want to be. My understanding is that a 3:73 gear will cause excessive tire spin with our stock tires. So actually the car will be slower 0-60 and 1/4 mile times because we can't hook up because of the 3:73 gears.

I would go with the 3.55's. I know of road racers that are running them over 3.73's just to not have to shift the extra time. Plus the 3.73's even with the V6 makes first a very quick gear to shift out of.

I had 3.73 gears on my 06 v6 and really liked the added low end but it was an automatic.
I think I'm gonna go with 3.55 with my 13 since its a manual.

I will definitely post an update. I think the tune will take care of the spin but Im also installing a Steeda CAI. I want the BBK TB 73mm but not sure about fit. This is going to be a daily driver So I want to make sure im not shelling out extra money for tires every 3 months. But from other post i've been reading, tires wont be a problem with the 3.73's as long as I am careful and not burning out.

Thanks! Its my understanding the 3:73 gear causes our stock tires to spin/burn out like crazy when stomping on it at a dead stop. Let me know how you fair with them.

I have less Tire spin in my 13GT w/3:73 gears than I do with my 08GT that. I had to change my suspention and get bumper control, plus arms to keep me pinned down. In my 13 I can burn it up, but I have much less bite issues. I would say it depends on your setup, and what tire/rim your going to run with it. You can't go wrong either way as long as your having fun.
