For those of you 05-09 owners are any of you clawing your eyes out after Ford upped the horsepower to old gt spec the following few years later or are you satisfied with your 4.0? Just curious id be torn between because even though the 3.7 is arguably one of the best v6's Ford has ever made, but the 4.0 makes more torque than hp and makes it at a lot lower rpm and thats what really defines a muscle car. Let me know your thoughts.

I though about this same question and I gotta say I love my 07 six shooter. And your exactly right about the low end torque I believe this is the reason why I beat a new camaro off the line. While his tires were still spinning I was already coming out of second gear! His face at the next red light... :-O lmao

I just wish Kenne Bell made a super charger system for my V6. I think they offer the best systems power wise imo!

Yep i just have a hard time saying the v6 is a muscle car because it drives as foreign as my vw did and has the exhaust note and feel of a nissan VQ. The v6 is more like a sport coupe to me because you can really feel the horsepower vs the torque. Torque is what defines a muscle car. Even the 5.0 now is a bit hard for me to understand. It has always been that torque outweighs hp by at least 40 or more in a muscle car. Now its starting to become the opposite kinda like a gt-r. Trust me though i have no problem with that i love it just gotta start getting used to it. Hp is more for the track and torque is for daily driving.

If you love your car than that's the best it can do,there's always something faster no matter what you buy. I love my 4.0. But soon I will be a owner of a new 5.0. But I will always keep my v6.

How is the engine on the 3.7? Does it feel fast? I have a little Less than 280/tq on my 4.0 and it feels pretty damn fast. just wondering if it's a torquey car.

Yep it feels fast but in my opinion the stock 2.73's really cripple its output. The 305 really feels more like 250 with the 2.73's. When driving it normally under 3k you would never know it was a 305 hp car because of the variable valve timing. That being said though it def doesnt feel slow in the higher rpms. I have a set of 3.73's from ford racing already but im still saving up for a sct bama tuner. Still undecided on whether or not ill put them in before my warranty is up but that bama tune knocks a half of a second off the 1/4 mile time. To some it all up the 2.73's and the autos shift points based on fuel econ really cripple performance but still makes you say wow this is a v6?

Also not torquey down low at all like the 4.0. Ive never driven a 4.0 stang but i have the same 4.0 in my sport trac so im thinking they feel somewhat similar just with the mustang obviously being faster due to weight.

Ya since ive modded my engine from stock it's hard to keep my tires on the ground in low rpm's. I can't see your pics for some reason. I bought the sct tuner when I bought my duals and intake it made a pretty big difference in response, especially when you have a manual trans. I bet your 3.7 will respond nicely to the tuner.

Yeah a bama 87 tune knocks a half of sec off of the 1/4 mile! The sct tuner is my next upgrade. I have Ford racing 3.73's in the box but i dont want to void my warranty because of the tune i would need with them.

No, not really its bound to happen sooner or later. I'm sure in a few years the V6 will be even faster. I do like the 3.7 a lot.

Entry level muscle car. It's a great 1st step. I know I'd get in trouble with the GT.

I drove a 2012 5.0 yesterday, my boss got one from enterprise rental. First time I've ever been in a 5.0 that thing was a freaking monster. I never in my dreams thought it would be that fast. Now i extremely want one. Lol

I've never driven a 3.7 v6, but I had 2 fox 5.0's, those things can't hold a candle to my 11 5.0. Since the first time I test drove the 2011 I knew I had to have one. Absolute BEAST!!

Hell yeah talk about fun and adrenaline overload! Just knowing that you can reach speeds in excess of 200mph is enough to make my heart skip a beat! This mustang is truly the King of the Road!!!

You should go test drive a 2012 v6 and see what you think. Never driven a 5.0 but when you look at the price tags and compare insurance than it really is a toss up. The 5.0 is def a car i will have one day though!!

I would not mind having a 3.7 at all either.I'm waiting about 4-6 months and then going to trade mine in, and pick up a used 2011. Leaning more toward a 5.0.
