I own a 2001 V6 stang and have an issue with the 5th gear. Sometimes when im shifting into 5th gear at a high RPM (4000-4500 rpm) it grinds. Is there a way to fix this?
thanks,
James

I don't know what to tell ya. Can you feel if there any slack in your clutch pedal?cagedthought said:It's s 2001 mustang v6 with 47xxx miles . I dont slam in into 5th gear alot i just drive it but i do get up on it every once and awhile. I installed a shorter shifter lever but its not a actual short shifter, its more so one of those smaller bolt on shiter arms. It doesnt happen to often just every once awhile.
Remove transmission (takes about 1 hour) and take it to a transmission shop.cagedthought said:I own a 2001 V6 stang and have an issue with the 5th gear. Sometimes when im shifting into 5th gear at a high RPM (4000-4500 rpm) it grinds. Is there a way to fix this?
