I know there are several front end suspension and upgrades for the 66 Mustangs. I have a 91 GT in my garage that I'm pulling the drive train out of to slam into the 66, has anyone ever tried swapping the front suspension over to a 66? I am rather handy with tools and welding so fabrication is not a problem, I have not yet pulled anything off the GT yet and the 66 is off to one side and havent looked at it closer. Just curious as to if it's even worth entertaining the thought.

I have never heard of it before. Just heard of mustang ll front end, tubed arms with coilovers, coilovers with stock suspension, and then the shockwave air ride setup. There are quite a few brands out there too, I think I found a kit for coilovers without arms for 800 or so

I was looking at it a bit closet tonight and unless your really bored, got alot of time on your hands and the knowledge and experience, it's not really practical to attempt that swap. A kit is definantly the way to go.

What do you mean a kit? The coilover I believe just mounts from the top control arm and to a plate that goes on top of the tower. The a-arms are for convenience in alignment really. I mean obviously they will prob last longer, but I think a coilover with stock arms and put some poly bushings would work pretty well. But if money isn't a issue or if you like to have the best then go with a full kit which is what I plan on doing with my current project

Im planning on the TCI front end. 2" drop, power disc brake, rack and pinion, shock tower delete ( relocates to outside of the engine compartment which means a big engine in the future ) & additional frame support. The main reason I've decided on this is because the shock tower on the passenger side has cracked, the lower control arm was bent backwards affecting the other components. The car also came with manual drum brakes and manual steering. Total cost for all that to be replaced and upgraded to power steering and brakes is about the same price. Going to have to spend it anyway and it makes more sense to spend on a modern upgraded suspension than just replacing the 40 year old setup with the same.
Cost is not really a big issue, time on the other hand.....

And how much is their kit running, check out autoworksracing.com they have some neat stuff. Tcp is awesome too but it sounds like your trying to kill two birds with one stone which is smart
