i just got on here i have this problem i bought a 87 mustang lx 5.0 auto. and its 5 lug and i need a new rear end for it and i want everything to bolt up like the one does up under it now. i took the code tag off the pumkin and it reads 2SL73A887B05 or 2SL73A887805 its hard to make out. but ive tried both and cant seem to find a match any where. any ideas? the top number is 201A.
Whats wrong with your current rear end? And any 8.8 rear end from a 86-93 mustang will work, maybe 94+ too im not sure if the differential is offset or anything on those. You will need to use your 5 lug axle's and brakes tho because fox bodies are factory 4 lug. If you were looking for the info on your rear end it is an 8.8" and should have 2.73 gears if its still stock. GT's have a ford racing traction lok differential and I believe the LXs came with that too.
You didn't mentioned if you have rear disc brakes. If you so use sn95 rear end if you don't have disc brakes go with the fox rear end and use you're axles.
