I am wanting to get a Bama SCT tune from American Muscle soon and I know I wanna put it on performance tune but would it be more beneficial to run regular 87 octane or 89 octane. I know 89 octane is a better overall gas but would it really be worth it over 87? How much more gains would I get to have 89 over 87 performance tune?

I don't notice much of a difference, I have mine on 87 performance just as a everyday tune, sometimes I'll put it on the 91 race tune to play around.

Great choice, The Bama tuner will definitely wake your pony up. The performance tune is definitely your best bet for daily driving. This tune adds power at 3000 RPMs and higher, focusing more on the top end HP and all out performance driving. The higher the octane the better off for performance, the difference between 89oct and 87oct may not be to much power but it will definitely be a little more power. Think of it this way, the difference in power between 87oct and 89oct power wise is the same as the difference in cost of fuel between the two octanes.

I hopes this helps, let me know if you have any questions! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Sounds like a 87 octane tune will do it for me. What I can see is its pretty much just a higher quality and more expensive gasoline and kind of like what Dan said its just about what you wanna pay for gas and even though it might be a little more beneficial and have some more power gains just not enough to make a huge difference.
