I'm new to the mustang world so I figured I better seek you guys advice. The manual says use 87 octane but I've been using 92. Is there any harm in that. I just have a stock 4.6 motor. Thanks!

No harm to the car, just to your pocketbook.

The octane rating is the amount of pressure it takes to make it most combustible. That maynot be the exact meaning, but something all.g those lines. Imo you are eating your money unless the car calls for it or you are tuned for it. Everyone always thinks they are getting cleaning better quality gas, it that is just a myth. Save yourself some money and stick with the 87.
