So I bought the meguires clay bar kit, and spray wax but no polish!!! Oops!

My question is do I need polish before wax to protect my paint?

Or is it safe to claybar and then spray wax?

Thanks!!!

Claybar is used to get the imperfections out of the wax and off the paint. It'll remove any wax on the vehicle. Use the claybar, then the wax

I've done it before without polishing... Just make sure there is 0 residue from the clay bar... I actually do it while hand washing... While a panel is wet with water, I use the clay at and spray lube on a section... Then just rince/wash that area again... Then dry and wax.

If I do polish, I will clay bar first, then polish, then wax.
I do realize what the clay bar does, that's why I'm excited to use it.
Another question. Is it important to re wash the car after clay baring? Before spray wax is applied ?( since no polish) or should I just pick up the polish?

If you do a good job with detailer after clay and don't have any water spots or residue... You can wax right after... I've done that too. Just easier while you are washing.
I typically do this process when I clay bar:

Wash with joy or dawn soap
Clay bar
Wash with car soap
Polish
Wax

Just my method, I think you will find that every one has a different method.

Yeah and I just washed it last night thinking I was going to do the rest of it that night. Plus I would like to clean and dry it at the house just before the clay.

So you actually mix the claybar detailer spray with your water and soap on the car? Then clay it and wipe it dry?

Yep... Just make sure you always have plenty of the detail/lube spray while you do it... Little to no pressure while clay barring... And if you start to feel the bar drag, use more lube. If it catches, it might transfer some clay to the paint... Just be gentle and slow... Then go over again with soap and water, dry, (polish if you desire), final gentle wipe with clean MF and wax/buff.
No!

Here's what you should do and in what order! Opps! I didn't look at your car first, but that doesnt matter!

Anyway, Using a clay bar will remove any and all contaminants (road grime, rail and freeway debree, air pollutants and very fine pieces of metal that you can't see but gets stuck in your paint by the cars driving in front of you.

The best way to tell if your car needs claying is to wash and dry it. Then run a Clean Dry Microfiber cloth across your paints finish. If it doesn't side off your cars paint as if it were glass, it needs to be clayed.
(if l set a folded Cotton towel or a Microfiber towel on my car anywhere but the decklid. It will slip off and on to the ground)

This is also the BEST step you can do for and to your cars paint! l can't stress that enough! But first you need to do the following.

First, Wash your car with Ultra Dawn liquid dish soap, this will strip ALL Wax, Polish, Dirt, Grime Bird poo from your car! Rinse your car well.

Then follow the instruction on the Meguiars Claybar box. Then wash and dry it again to remove all the residue of claybar and Meguiars lubricant. You don't want to combine the two different car products. The Claybar is a PRE-Cleaning agent and needs to be washed off using a car washing soap.

Then use a polish to bring back the shine and lustre!

A spraywax is used as a quick detailer or a quick and easy in between wax jobs. Like wipe it on, let dry and wipe off.

Where as a wax that is rubbed in allowed to dry/cure and buffed off.

I myself, never put wax on my car! I only use ZAINO Products on my car Oh yeah! l keep a Spray bottle filled with Distilled water in my car, so if a bird does do a fly by and drops a nasty bomb, or my car is dusty, l spray that and wipe it down. Distilled h2o won't leave water spots!

Exactly how I've done it except there is no need to wash after clay bar, but that's preference. Sometimes, I do though.

Depending on how bad the car is sometimes I use a glaze after polish, then wax or a cleaner wax and a coat of regular wax.

Sweet! I think it all comes down to preference.
Seems like they never give ya enough lube to clay bar ratio... Is they're a home remedy or substitute for the lube??????

More detailing spray (that's what they give you anyways).

Or spit...

But the line is probably (maybe) better.
