Recently got a 87' with a 2v swap in it and while idling I hear a slight noise nothing horrible but the previous owner said it's from the aftermarket chain tensioners he put on the car and said he has heard that it was pretty normal for them to be slightly noisy. Any ideas guys?? Thanks'

I don't but in general, if a chain is making noise, it may be too tight; which makes sense because you mentioned tensioners. Other possibilities are, too loose or teeth are slightly wrong shape for the chain. To me, too tight is most likely because, everyone understand and recongnizes a loose chain, but the previous owner paid for aftermarket tensioners and expected them to be perfect without measuring tension.

Thanks Irish. That helps a lil but I will see what the tuner says but hell It's not that big of an issue if so I don't have any accessories to unbolt so work would be minimal.
