Going to do my best. I was originally coming home from Afghanistan in May, but now I'm here until the end of July. Will be tight time-wise, especially since I have to throw on my one-piece ds and supercharger when i get back first. Fingers crossed.
From Wake Forest, NC the drive was 6.5 hours driving, but it was college move-in weekend in 2015, so that added another 1.5 - 2 hours for traffic around the DC/Maryland area. I-95 was a nightmare going back home. Still worth the trip though!
If you make reservations early, it's not bad...unless your wife / significant other is particular about where you stay. Mine only wants to stay in the Hampton Inn. ?
If I can keep from backing into another curb, I'll be there. Same hotel as you and the last two years. Got an event next month with the Blue Mustang Club, heading down to run the Tail of the Dragon / Devil's Triangle. A couple of other runs but these are the most challenging.
Nope, but the forum presence as a whole for AM all over the internet has really gone down. I'm going to go ahead and say it was not cost efficient and/or they are focusing on the mass of FB groups that now seem to be really hurting car forum membership as a whole.
Either way, it's a great show and a great way to hang out with everyone from the forum. Regardless of who's hosting it, everyone should come and have a blast! It's the people that make the experience.
I would love to go to but unfortunately I can't justify the 25 hour drive there. Wish there was more of this kind of stuff near the center of the country.
I'm really bummed out because I probably won't be going this year. I have to get my right hip replaced and I was told it would be at least four to six months before I would be back to normal.
The hip is so worn out now that I'm stuck in a wheel chair because they don't want any weight put on the hip.
I did all of the pre-operation stuff and cleared for surgery. I'll find out Friday the 7th. when and where.
The VA is doing it but I have to go to a specialist hospital because of the pin already in my leg.
I sure will be there in 2018 with my Mario, He is not going to be happy this year if we can't go.
We drive up from Daytona beach and the drive is as good as the show for Mario, He likes to stop at all the rest areas and sniff around. Ronnie
