Anyway, a radio station set an event up today at our mall. They made a pretty good track and I was driving by so I stopped in when I heard the squealing tires lol.

Anyway the guy I wa talking to said it was 5 bucks to enter and I asked him about classes and he went "Uh, what?"

Yea, I went up against a beastly turbo integra, a couple camaros, and some rice. It was so much fun tho0ugh and I want to go again.

autocross is a blast... ive done probably 5 or 6 autocross events now and each one gets better and better

I'd like to auto-x but it seems so expensive. How are your brakes afterward? I know you change them but how often do you have to replace them? How is your clutch as I wouldn't swap mine out just for an event. How badly do your tires go down? I guess bridgestone potenza s0-3's are the best for that?

Ha ha..If I tried to do autox right now....I would simply not go anywhere cuz my tires are too bald. I got my tires rotated this weekend..and the guys at the tire place laughed at my tread. I'd love to get into autox if I could ever afford it.

ive got an auto so i dont worry about the clutch. My brakes are fine, I use ceramic pads and they seem to last prettny nicely. Tires get chewed up... I probably go a season on a set of tires, but man they get nasty. As far as the best tire, Kumho 711's are amazing, falken also has a really good reputation as far as the autox world is concerned. More expensive doesnt necessarily mean better... you pay higher prices with brands like bridgestone because of all the "technology" in the tire, and cause of their name. Its hella fun, you dont need to get way serious with your car the first couple times... just go out and have fun with it. I will say, the most helpful mod is a tlok rear end... one wheel burnouts will kill you on an autox course.

I run Khumo 712 and that's what almost everyone runs in my region. Either that or Falken Azenis are very popular also.

Brakes will wear a little faster, but not terribly so. You'll probably need new brake pads about once a year if you race every weekend.

it's awefully cheap for the amount of fun you can have. It's hardER on a car, but it's not terrible.

Go auto cross. You'll have a blast.

I know I have been there. I got to test a few new Chevrolet products the SSR truck is fast. I want to try my stang I have some suspension done so hopefully I can in the future.

AutoX is pretty cool. But I still like the open road of the mountains. The best driving roads in the US and the world within 45-60 min from my house. But I understand if you live in the flat lands AutoX is really all you have.

Deals gap is treacherous though. You **** up and your over the cliff.

I too like twisty elevation changes, but Auto X is too much fun. It's really helping me with car-control and what not.

What is funny is that BMW Motorsports US division is behind the Greenville Spartanburg Airport as is there US plant where they make the Roadster and most of the cars you see that really mess up in the mountains are BMW's as well as Winnebago's and Motorcycles. Those damn Germans come over here and take there BMWs on the Tail and lose it. HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA

I run the 712's, those seem to work pretty well. Better than the Bridgestone potenza's I was running before that.

i ran potenza re730's but those things slid all over the place. i switched to ventus hr2's and those things grip a lot better. i rarely use the brakes too and rely mostly on the car's inertia
