I own a 88 mustang gt 5.0 with a bad lifter how much will it cost for the part itself and how hard is it to install?

If you have a bad lifter 99% chance the cam is bad. Generally a lifter goes bad because the lifter does not rotate in it's hole

Good luck.

first, the 5.0 has one cam. not cams. And you leave the cam in. Just pull the intake off and use a special tool that can be made from a screwdriver to pull the lifters from the top buy pulling the edge of the lifter. They come out had. Takes some spray cleaner and back and forth motion. Make sure you know which hole they come from in case you need t put any back in. Keep them in the same spot or they wear bad. new ones can be replaced anywhere obvioulsy. you can leave the heads on too.
