Ordered the SCT tuner and got back my tunes from bama. I ordered the 91 street, 91 perf and 91 race tunes. I've noticed that for one, the shift points are definitely different ( automatic) and all three tunes when going from 1st to 2nd the tranny kicks hard. Is this normal?

Since they are all performance tunes I belive it's normal. The tuner firms up the shifts on autos.

The kick your refering to is the tuner hardening your shifts. A kick is normal even at low rpm if the shift presure is increased. For automatics this part of the tune is one of your greatest performance improvments on your automatic car and while it is a little harder on the trans your trans can take it. Rest easy my friend it is normal.

Its definitely worth it. I just added a 70 mm throttle body and plenum and this thing can scoot now! It woke it up quite a bit.

I see all of your questions have already been answered! But just to confirm, the answer is Yes. The added "Kick" is completely normal, this is just the aggressive shift firmness that we adjust for all Auto cars!

Would u say it was worth buying the tuner? If i do buy it ill probably be getting it with the 3.73's
I did the 373 and tuned with other mods and wished i went with 410's. They say dont fear the gear, and like i said... i wish i went 410! Dont worry about rpms, gas, top end, blah, blah, blah.... its not that big of a difference except the acceleration, tork, and the smile on your face!

Maybe worry about forward progression on the street using street tires? 3.73s are the way to go unless your going to be running M/T's on motor or have an automatic, then 410s are the way to go.
