Christmas is coming, trying to decide what I wanna get for Christmas from my woman...in thinkin a tuner package with cai from AM...how much will this really wake my car up? I'm all stock except for FM exhaust, 5 spd 02 GT...I hear they wake up autos a lot more than a stick, will I seriously notice a difference with this package on my 5 spd?

I sure did, especially in 3rd gear for some reason. At around 2500 rpm is whistles pretty loud from air intake and pulls harder. It's a good choice and the tuner will help in the long run.

The tuner package without the CAI will do the same. The stock intake is a CAI, and a very good one at that. With mild bolt-ons, 24 lb/h injectors and an optimally tweaked tune I put down 262/305 rwHP/torque, with the stock intake and a Purolator paper filter. If you are looking for HP look in directions other than the intake plumbing...

NJstanger,

Don't you love this time of year! A CAI/Tune combo kit will definitely wake your car up a ton. You have the correct information about the Automatics, an Auto will benefit much more in the shifting department because we have full access to the shift points tables.

You can expect to see a 15-20RWHP and torque gain from this set up. For every Bama Tune we ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique mods and style of driving. This info helps us write custom tunes from the ground-up for your Mustang's mods that will give you the most horsepower that we can safely deliver. We're also constantly developing our tunes! Between our 14 different Project Mustangs and tons of street/track and dyno testing (on our in-house Dynojet 224xLC), we're looking for any minor tweaks to be made that can benefit you guys.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

Have a great Holiday season!

I agree stock intake is pretty darn good. I have a 5 spd, I bought my tuner when I only had a cat back. Notice a fairly big difference. The throttle response was the best. Couldn't imagine not having a tune now. You pick up some torque too. A tuner has got to be the only basic mod that I have never heard anyone say they regret buying or they didn't feel any extra power from. There's just too many pro's to having a tuner not to get one! That'd be an excellent Christmas gift
