It started with a CD that went in, but not all the way, and wouldn't come out. The door wouldn't close either. It just said CD Error no matter what I pressed.

Someone I know pulled it out. And the little door still won't close, and still, no matter what I press, it says CD Error.

What is the most cost efficient solution to this problem?

i bought my infiniti g35 that way..it said "cd error fo".i tried tweezers and everything.some people recommended to unplug the wires from your c.d. and restart it..you can find a audio mechanic in your area who can fix it for around $80 (i called around to get estimates).

if you go to the dealer, they might want to charge you to install a new radio..i didnt bother with all that so i just got an ipod and i am happy now

buy a new head unit. there is only one company that sells factory changers but they cost $300 plus. i would check at a junk yard or find someone who upgraded there stereo but left their changer in the trunk. i believe mustang 99-04 should all be similar wiring.
