Alright went to another Autocross run and got some good POV video.

I haven't been since i installed the coil overs, HPS pads, drilled & slotted rotors, and aluminum driveshaft, as well as give it some negative camber and a tiny bit of positive castor. From all that the car feels like a whole other animal.

First 2 runs i pushed it to hard coming out of the faster corners and it a few cones, but cleaned it up for my fastest final lap with no cone hits.

The car still has a lot left in it, i don't use the brakes nearly as much as i should. And i have to fix the understeering.

Lap 1: 64.172 +3
Lap 2: 63.682 +4
Lap 3: 63.158

For a comparison there was a modded 01 Cobra (even lower than my car) on Hoosier slicks. I don't know what else it had done but it was only 2 seconds faster than i was, so i think i did pretty damn well in comparison since i'm on cheap Sumitomos. The final standings are not out yet, but i'm anxious to see how i compared to all the other cars on the track.

Oh, and that white STI you see at the very end. I beat him by about 4 seconds.

Pretty nice course. Plenty of room to get some speed unlike most other autox courses

MPT TUNE, Borla S-Type, Airaid Cai, Ford racing X pipe, Mac ceramic shorty headers, 2010 GT500 rims, 35% tint, Sr Springs, J&M phb, camber bolts, blacked out side markers, front and taillights.

Good to see more mustang drivers getting into the sport. I keep trying to get more guys to show up to our local events, but not many seem to stay.
My advice to you as a driver would be to brake a bit earlier, then use your pedals to balance the car midcorner (give it some gas to push the car out, let off or brush the brakes to pull it in tight), the understeer from that video was caused more by too much corner entry speed than by car setup (if you come in too fast, the car will just scrub until you are going slow enough for it to catch grip and re-enter a state of normal steer). Mustangs also love trailbraking due to the unusually high front brake bias (can help with that understeer). The next thing I would recommend would be a set of Hankook RS-3v2's. I would not go with Hoosiers until you have another season or two, just because they are bad to learn on, and they heat cycle quickly. 50 runs is about the best you can expect for max grip, then once you hit 100 runs, I have noticed that the A6 has lost so much grip that mine would cost me a full three seconds on a forty second course (and it just keeps getting worse past that, to the point that my RE-11s would have much more grip than the A6 toward the end), no data on the A7 yet, picking up my first set of those in July, before heading to Lincoln for nationals in August.

Nice runs Soccer,

I've been hit and miss this autocross season. Missed about half of the events so far due to work. On the good side, this past weekend we started our night events in the Las Vegas Region. Managed to pull a 17th in RAW and 5th in PAX on a very technical short course. Pissed off a lot of S2000 and Miata guys :)

Well Static, a person can only come to two conclusions about those results...

You are either competing with a bunch of people who's driving styles might be better suited for the drag strip.

Or

You are out there kicking some serious ass on street tires!
That's actually pretty impressive!
And you won F Stock!

So what was that dude that got TTOD driving?

TTOD is the guy with the shifter kart. Those things are seriously quick, KM is Kart Modified, there are a whole bunch of rules but it starts with a 125cc Honda motorcycle engine tweaked to all kinds of levels and a minimum weight to keep things even.

The guy who PAX'd 9th won nationals in F125 (Kart) in 2000, so its not all straight line guys around here :) I think F125 was provisional until 2002 but hey, a class win at Topeka is a class win at Topeka even in an exhibition class.

In all seriousness, we have some pretty decent drivers around here and competition improves the breed for sure. The second place F-Stock driver also races Spec-Miata SCCA and NASA so he is no slouch either. I have learned a TON from him over the last year and a half.

I figure I will get another solid season of regional experience under my belt and then see how I do at a national level event, but I know to be competitive at that level it wont be with my current car. I'm running a 2011 GT/CS. No Brembos and I am stuck with an 8.5" wide wheel. The guys at nationals will be running Performance Pack cars or 2012-13 Bosses now that those are back in F-Stock. I am curious to see how an F-Stock prepped 2015 does. It looks like you can actually get proper camber settings in those which is going to make a HUGE difference.
