The v6 mustang has an open differential. meaning that power is only delivered to the passengers side rear wheel.

V8 Mustangs have a limited-slip differential. meaning that power is delivered to both rear wheels.

T-lok is short for Traction lock, where both wheels get power. Up until 2010 all V6 Mustangs came with an Open differential, which is where when traction is lost power is diverted to a certain wheel to maintain traction. All while the GTs came with a Limited Slip differential, in 2011 they actually changed that and now both V6 and V8 Mustangs have a Limited Slip differential.

You could also go to a junkyard/pick and pull yard and get a 8.8" rear end from a gt

Sometimes it could be cheaper
