I've got a 67 w/ 289 and a C4. Pulled the tranny and took it to a shop for rebuild. Got it back all nice and silver paint job. Now trying to put it back. I get about 3/8" from the bell meeting the engine block and the converter studs are hitting the cover plate.
Could they have put a different bell on it? Are they different? Not sure what else could be the problem. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

Never mind. I figured it out. The converter has slide too far out and was preventing the bell from tightening up to the block.
It's in and torqued.

Make sure that tc is all the way in i ruined mine te first time. On mine it needed to line up with 3 things
