Alrighty guys.. Starting to look at some cams, but i had a quick question first. Can i Use the stock bearings and lifters? Or do i have to buy new ones? Which would be best...?

2nd Question: Today i was adjusting my idle, After a certain point it automatically revs up to 2,000 rpms. Whats up with that?
Example: If i start pushing the gas really slow (in netural) goes up to about 800 rpms then goes straight to 2,000 and i can take my foot off the the accel. and it stays there for a second and then drops back down to idle... :banghead: Any info would help.. thanks.. Oh yeah and does anybody on here have air/fuel mix. guages in their car? If so does yours jump around like a frog gone retarded? :wtf2:

depending on how agressive your cam is will tell if you need new bearings, and lifters. i would do it anyway cause upgrades are nice cause it would be cheaper to do it at the time of the cam install rather than later. your air/fuel mixture should be "jumping like a retarded frog". down low it should be rich-stoich, and when on full throttle or accelerating quickly it should go more steady towards lean or stoich. its not your eqiupment. i know it gets kind of annoying after a while.

there are MANY ways to build a 5.0 up... I recommend AFR heads maybe the 185s depending on what you want to do... then determine how you want the powerband set up..

my friend has the afr 165s, edlebroke intakes (performer i think) and i cant remember the cam specs... stock 302 bottom end with gears/exhasut/pulleys and he is capable of 300+rwhp and tq and doing some 7.9s in teh 8th with slicks.
