I have a question about the brakes on my '67 coupes brakes. It's got 9" rear drums and is missing the lever to shoe link. I can order this part, but these parking brakes don't really work well anyways...
Would it be possible for me to disconnect the parking brake entirely and remove the lever and other ebrake components, then reassemble the brakes? Should work just like the front brakes, just with no ebrake, right?

It'll still work, just like if the cable broke. They still work. But you may not be able to get a state inspection depending in the state you live in.

Yeah, I don't use my ebrake anyways. I ordered the part that I need to fix the brake, but I'm still considering removing the whole assembly. I just wanted some input on wether or not this would effect my normal braking...
