I just bought a new Mustang. And I had to change the O2 sensor. I went underneath to change it and I realize that the wiring is completely different than expected. The old sensor was spliced and attached to a much longer cord and stretched to what it looks like is connected to the other sensor. Is this normal with a custom exhaust. Should I splice and re connect my new sensor?

Couple questions for you...
Do you have long tube headers?
If so, what you see could be extensions for the O2 sensors.

Do you have an off road X or H mid pipe setup (no cats)?
If so, you have to fake the rear O2 sensors. The rear two O2 sensors are for the catalytic converters. You could be seeing the MIL the previous owner put in.
