I have stock gears, so should I use the 3.27 ratio or would increasing the ratio help with acceleration?

If you have a manual trans, changing the gear ratio in the tune will affect nothing aside from the speedometerI have stock gears, so should I use the 3.27 ratio or would increasing the ratio help with acceleration?
The axle ratio should always match whats in the car and not be used to adjust the speedo.dont they do "rotations per mile" instead of just the gear ratio~ thats how my friends on SCT tuner did on his 08. He tried the gear change but it didnt work so he did rotation by miles.
I am trying to determine which modification would be better for my DD 08 GT Auto. High stall torque converter or going from 3.31 to 3.73 or 4.10. I have zero mods currently but will be ordering the JLT/SCT Bama tuner combo this weekend. Looking for best torque possible for off the line accel. I don't fully understand how the stall torque converter worksAustinMueller,
Depending on your Transmission and what Factory options the car was built with, you have either 3.31's or 3.55's. Those gears are pretty tall and I definitely recommend getting a 3.73 or 4.10 in there! Gears are one of the most beneficial mods you can do in my opinion.
You'll notice a huge gain in Acceleration and Low End Torque! We can also adjust for your speedometer within the Tune. So just let the Bama team know what gears you're installing and will gladly hook you up!
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions or need some assistance. Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

I'm looking for the same thing mod wise but you might want to add better tires, LCA's and UCA's to the list. It won't be as fun if the car sways left to right or your wheels keep spinning going nowhere like when a cartoon character is running in one spot until taking off...I am trying to determine which modification would be better for my DD 08 GT Auto. A hi stall torque converter would be one of the last mods I would do on a daily driven street car they are great at the track but they suck on the street for a daily driver I would do gears and other mods first I would not even think about a torque converter until you have all the bolt on's plus cams just my .02I am trying to determine which modification would be better for my DD 08 GT Auto. Lol yea, I let my wife drive it on weekend errands, but when I change the gears and tune it to be very aggressive Im not going to let her drive it ... " just to be safe "Thanks that is very helpful. I'll do the CAI and Tuner then most likely wimp out and get the 3.73. I get conflicting information on what is better for an auto with daily long highway commutes. I'd like 4.10's but don't want it to be too much for my wife to drive![]()
Mines an auto with 4.10s not bad to drive unless trying to back up. With the cai and 93 hybrid tune it's real froggy in reverse. Can't use the gas, you just let it reverse on its own. I would think with a manual you could control it more, but with the auto it just wants to break lose.Lol yea, I let my wife drive it on weekend errands, but when I change the gears and tune it to be very aggressive Im not going to let her drive it ... Man I was wondering About that cause I plan on getting 4.30 or 4.56... Kinda why I don't plan on letting my wife drive it when I install that much gear. I want to take her to the track soon but not until she's ready ....Mines an auto with 4.10s not bad to drive unless trying to back up. With the cai and 93 hybrid tune it's real froggy in reverse. Everybody is different and Congrats!!! On your purchase, but I'm going all out with my baby I want the most aggressive options that's street legalI just ordered the JLT/SCT combo 2 minutes ago from AM. I assume I will get an email asking what tunes I want and specifics on my mods (none). I like the concept of the HYBRID tunes so I can get so low end torque and top end. We can get gas from 92 to 94. Any suggestions on what tunes you prefer and why would be MOST appreciated.
