Below are some pictures of my charge cable going to the alternator, and it seems to be getting really hot. Brand new PA performance alternator installed less than 2 weeks ago but not problems until 3 or 4 days ago when I installed a new set of valve covers. What could cause this? It also killed my battery within this time, as it was fine before and now won't hold a charge at all (trickle charged battery all night and still wouldn't crank off the charger). The battery cable is fine and all connectors I unplugged to put the valve covers on have been accounted for. Nothing is being crimped and no wires seem to be unplugged. Is it a higher amp PA alternator if so you should have bought the thicker cable that goes with it because the stock on won't hold the amps.
